Information used by the service
When you sign in, your account includes an email address and an account identifier. Your Capri profile stores your display name, autoplay preference, history preference, saved series, and playback positions when history is enabled. Contact requests store your email, message, topic, and request status. A signed-in request is linked to your account.
Email updates
When you subscribe in the footer, we store your email, consent version, signup source, and signup or update dates. Authorized administrators send campaigns through our email service and may export subscriber records for company communications. Marketing messages include a personal unsubscribe link. You can also request removal through Contact Us. Unsubscribing from updates does not cancel a membership or change essential account emails.
Movie ratings and provider tools
Signed-in customers can submit one star rating per movie, change it, or remove it. Public pages show averages and rating counts, not reviewers’ email addresses. Provider applications, uploaded movies and trailers, review feedback, and approved revenue terms are stored to manage submissions. Provider drafts are private to their owner and administrators.
AI descriptions
When an administrator or approved content provider chooses to generate a description, the movie title, genre, existing description, and supplied story notes are sent to OpenAI through its API. Movie files and customer account data are not included in this request. AI-generated descriptions are saved as drafts and require review before publication.
Ask Capri and voice
The public Content Creators guide sends your questions, conversation, and public program information to OpenAI. It has no access to private customer, creator, or admin records. A signed, one-day browser cookie keeps your guide conversations separate and supports usage limits.
Ask Capri is an AI assistant, not a human support agent. Using chat sends your question, recent conversation, and information relevant to your dashboard to OpenAI. Customer context can include profile name, membership status, saved titles, and the public movie catalog. Provider context includes their own submission status and movies. Admin context includes review queues and support totals, without customer email lists or support-message contents.
Voice starts only when you choose Start conversation and allow microphone access. While the conversation is active, your microphone audio streams to OpenAI, which detects when you finish speaking and replies in an AI-generated voice. You can interrupt, mute your microphone, or end the conversation. Leaving or hiding the page stops microphone capture and playback. Dashboard conversations end after 10 minutes; public creator-guide conversations end after three minutes. Both end after two quiet minutes. Capri does not save voice recordings or live voice transcripts on its server; live transcripts remain in page memory. Session identifiers and times are retained for access and usage limits. Typed assistant replies remain available for read-aloud for up to 24 hours and are cleared during subsequent assistant usage. OpenAI processes data under its API data policies; this is not a promise of zero retention. The assistant cannot approve movies, change accounts, or make payments.
Website viewing analytics
We record page visits, banner clicks, episode starts, watched time, completion, and broad device type to understand how the service is used. A temporary browser-session identifier is stored in your browser and hashed in our analytics database. These event records do not include your name, email, account ID, or IP address. Reports cover up to 90 days; older events are removed as new activity is recorded. Administrator previews are excluded. Signed-in customers who turn off Remember viewing history also stop sending new analytics events.
Why we use it
We use account information to sign you in, keep your list and viewing progress, protect restricted content, and respond to support requests. The owner can manage support requests and see aggregate account and viewing totals. Customer sign-in does not grant access to Creator Studio.
Sign-in cookies and service providers
Customer email sign-in uses Supabase when connected. Necessary cookies keep that session active. The DreamHost version stores account and media records on our hosting server. Administrator access uses a separate private username and password. These providers process information needed to operate their services. We do not sell personal information or use customer account data for targeted advertising.
Payments
payments are processed by Stripe on its secure checkout and billing pages. Capri Shortz stores Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, plan, status, billing dates, and invoice links. Card numbers and security codes are entered with Stripe and are not stored by this application.
Your controls
You can edit your display name, turn watching history off, clear existing history, remove saved series, and sign out in your account. Turning history off stops new playback records; it does not erase older records. Use Contact Us to request access to or deletion of your account data. We verify control of the account email before acting on a deletion request. See our account-deletion policy.
Keeping information
Profile and viewing records remain available to operate your account until removed. Support requests remain available to the owner for follow-up. We keep information while needed for service, support, security, financial reporting, or legal obligations. Verified deletion requests are handled under our account-deletion policy. Closing a support request does not itself delete its records. Retained records are restricted to their necessary purpose; deletion does not remove records that Stripe or other providers must independently retain.
